Mighty Oak
Mighty Oak's brewery was originally located in Brentwood, Essex from 1996 to 2000 (Burntwood Bitter, their first beer is still recognised as one of the best bitters in the country).
They first brewed the cunningly named Maldon Gold after they moved to Maldon in January 2001 (this is their best selling beer and, in 2007, was voted the best Golden Ale in Britain by CAMRA).
The original brew plant came from Whitworth Hall in County Durham, the home of Bobby Shafto!
Mighty Oak started off with just two seven barrel fermentors, but now have one seven barrel and five fifteen barrel fermentors - the Oak is becoming more Mighty by the day and the brewery has been growing steadily year on year.
