This drink, which we class as a ''Sovereign' - A Pale Ale, For Single Hop Lovers' (a Pale Ale), has a strength of 4% ABV.
Sovereign is a hedgerow variety bred from an open pollination in 1995 at Horticulture Research International (HRI), Wye College in the UK and released in 2006. It is the granddaughter of Pioneer and works well with Goldings in British bitters and pale ales. It has intense aroma characteristics similar to Fuggles but with more tropical fruit notes.
The Single Hop Series has been inspired by a Lonely Hearts column in the newspaper. Single Hops are in search of Hop Lovers and this is where you will find them.
Throughout 2015, Westerham intend to brew a range of eight Single Hop beers with hops from Kent, America, Australia and Germany.
So far, this is one of 41 beers from Westerham Brewery that have been sold at the Bake & Alehouse.
