General Wolfe 1759
an ale from
Westerham Brewery
General Wolfe 1759
This drink, which we categorise as an 'Autumn Seasonal Ale,' has a strength of 4.3% ABV.

Our Autumn seasonal ale is the colour of turning maple leaves from the 13% Crystal Malt in the grist. In addition we add Maple Syrup to the copper. The brew is hopped with Bramling Cross hops which are a cross between an English Golding hop and a Manitoban (Canadian) wild hop. Brewed to commemorate General Wolfe who was born in Westerham and defeated the French at the Heights of Abraham in Quebec, 13 September 1759.
A firmly bitter but decidedly fruity, robust ale with toffee-malt notes, juicy blackcurrants and orchard fruits, plus a perfumed, floral background sweetness from the maple syrup. - Jeff Evans - Beer Writer
