This drink, which we categorise as a 'Vanilla Infused, Craft Cask Stout' (a Vanilla Stout), has an ABV of 4.5%.
The rapid, world growth in top fermented beers gives Theakston's brewing team in Masham the license to set their creative juices flowing - experimenting, a bit like Frankenstein perhaps? . More importantly, they claim to be one of the last brewers in Britain to employ full time craft coopers (cask makers) and this combination of brewing experience and 'knowledge' enables them to recognise the naturally complimentary flavours that make a great craft cask ale. The robust flavours of roasted barley are off-set by the sweet and gentle flavours of Vanilla to give a beautifully nuanced and flavoursome stout – another Theakston classic, or so they say!
