Gadds No 5
an ale from
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds)
Gadds No 5
This drink, which we categorise as a 'Kentish Best Bitter' (a Bitter), has a strength of 4.4% ABV.

This is a very simple ale - A traditional Kentish best bitter ale with an aroma of toffee malt and fresh green hops, that is full bodied and has a lingering bitter finish.

That might seem a simple description and infer that this is a 'simple' drink - but there is nothing simple about this drink. It just shows us that the traditional, 'old-fashioned' recipes are some of the best (this is a real ale - it's not one of those ghastly modern, cold, yellow, fizzy drinks that have no flavour, yet call themselves 'beer').

So far, this is one of 39 beers from Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds) that have been sold at the Bake & Alehouse.

To date, the Bake & Alehouse has supplied -

From THIS brewery:
  • 21 ales with a higher strength
  • 17 ales with a lower ABV

From ALL breweries:
  • 306 stronger ales
  • 35 ales of this strength
  • 426 weaker ales
  • 13 ales with an unrecorded strength

Records indicate that this drink has been available in the Bake, on over 207 seperate occasions, since August 2012
